What are the criteria for inclusion in the database?

Any company offering predictive hiring tools is eligible for inclusion in our database. This includes vendors who do not offer traditional assessments (i.e., AI-based recruitment process automation tools, AI-based interviews, and others).

What about vendors offering post hire-assessments? Are they included too?

We focused on vendors of pre-hire tools, but we do note any pre-hire vendors that also offer post-hire tools. For vendors who offer post-hire tools, their vendor profile also provides a summary of the post-hire tools offered. Our research does not include vendors who offer only post-hire assessments.

How are the vendor profiles created?

Our process begins with identifying vendors who fit our criteria and adding them to our database through a multi-step profile creation process. This process includes a review of the vendor’s website, marketing materials, and technical materials, as well as web research and discussions with colleagues. Profiles are reviewed by analysts to ensure that consistency and ratings are calibrated by comparison to profiles for other vendors within the same primary and secondary classifications. In cases where public information about revenues, investment, and transaction size is not available, analysts use their judgment and experience to assign values which are then shown to outside analysts specializing in HR tech for additional verification.

Who made the analyst ratings?

Research into vendors and subsequent ratings were made by Rocket-Hire analysts, all of whom possess either a Masters degree or Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational psychology and have experience reviewing vendors and their methodologies. Dr. Charles Handler led the analyst rating efforts, with his team contributing to vendor research and calibration of analyst ratings.

Are the profiles really unbiased and objective?

Yes. Vendors had no input into their profiles or ratings. Rocket-Hire has received no compensation from vendors in the database related to their inclusion or profile content.

What role do vendors play in the creation of their profiles?

See #5 above. Vendors have no input into the content of their profiles or the ratings.

How often do you add new vendors to the database?

New vendors are added to the database on a monthly basis. Although we launched with 245 vendor profiles, as of January 2021, we have more than 20 additional vendors for whom profiles will be developed for release in the coming months at a rate of approximately 10 per month.

How do you ensure profiles are up to date?

We make updates to vendor profiles on a regular basis. Rocket-Hire analysts review information for each vendor based on a schedule, and make needed updates to a new cohort of vendors on a quarterly basis.

How do we get our company in the database?

Email us at info@rocket-hire.com to request consideration for inclusion.

What level of detail about specific products do the vendor profiles provide?

Our ratings do not include information about specific products offered by vendors. Instead, we provide information about the general assessment types they offer based on our list of 52 different predictive hiring tools.

How do I access a list of vendor names and their classification and profiles?

This information is available only as part of a subscription to the Vendor Research Portal. In addition to full profiles for each vendor in the database, the Portal subscription package also includes a market map that both identifies vendors and places them within a classification system.

What is the difference between the trends insights found in the PDF report and those found in the Vendor Research Portal?

The PDF report includes trends information to support key conclusions presented in the report. This information is based on aggregate level analyses of the vendor profiles data. The Vendor Research Portal provides additional insights based on our data analysis and includes regular updates to the trends information as new data is collected and analyzed.

How often do you update the trends information?

Trends information found on the Vendor Research Portal are updated on a regular basis. Updates focus on both new analyses and insights presented in the “trend of the month” area of the Vendor Research Portal. Updates to the statistics in each research area are made when appropriate and the date of the last update provided where relevant.

What is the difference in the two available subscription packages?

As of January 2021, two subscription packages are available — the Data Access Package and the Analyst Advisory Package.

  • The Data Access Package includes one year of full access to the Vendor Research Portal and all subscriber-only content which includes one hour of consulting with Dr. Handler, webinars (two per year), blog posts, industry news updates, and other special content.
